Local early music ensemble Musicke in the Ayre return to the Italian cloister which provides an appropriate setting for a lively programme of pieces of up to 3 voices by 17th century composers associated with the Eternal City.
It features the early cantata, a Roman favourite which has hints of opera. Leader Din Ghani will be using an archlute and a baroque guitar (both made by him) to accompany sopranos Maria Danishvar-Wilson, Jane Hunt and Philippa Neaverson in works by Rossi, Carissimi, Frescobaldi, Landi and others.
Taking place from 2pm - 3pm, garden visitors can enjoy this concert at no extra charge.
